Editorial Policy and Complaints Procedure

Editorial Policy

At Radio Worthing, we focus on reporting issues and events that matter to the people of Worthing and nearby areas. Our goal is to provide fair, objective, and well-explained coverage that helps our audience understand the broader context of the stories we report.

We know that mistakes can happen. When errors are identified, whether by our team or listeners, we promise to correct them as soon as possible. If needed, we’ll also clearly indicate these corrections to ensure transparency.

Verification and Fact-Checking

We make sure all the information in our news reports is thoroughly checked. We rely on reliable sources and confirm any claims before broadcasting or publishing. While we prefer our sources to be named, we may protect a source’s identity if the information is valuable and cannot be obtained otherwise. Unnamed sources may be used for background information but won’t typically be the sole basis of a story, nor will they be allowed to make personal attacks. We never pay for information.

Fairness and Balance

We always seek responses from those involved in our news stories. In breaking news situations, we share verified information quickly and update our coverage with responses or additional context as it becomes available. If opposing views aren’t included yet, we will clearly state that updates are coming.

Corrections and Complaints

Accuracy is crucial to us. If you spot something wrong in our reporting, email us at news@radioworthing.co.uk with details. We will review and, if necessary, correct the information promptly. Significant errors will be highlighted, and we’ll make clarifications if a story gives the wrong impression. Archive content will only be updated or removed for significant legal reasons.

If you believe we’ve breached any guidelines and want to make a complaint, please follow these steps:
