Led by a knowledgeable local volunteer, this tour delves into the fort’s fascinating history, highlighting the significant routes, networks, and connections that have shaped its story.

During the tour, participants will explore the gun emplacements with stunning views across Sussex Bay, visit the last usable First World War Nissen Hut in the UK, and discover the recently built War Memorial, officially registered in 2020. The guide will share intriguing anecdotes about Shoreham Fort’s connections to notable figures such as author Peter James and actor Nicholas Lyndhurst, as well as its surprising link to the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava.
