Man Receives Criminal Behaviour Order for Worthing Shoplifting Spree
A man has been handed a criminal behaviour order following six shoplifting incidents in Worthing.
Linton Woolley was sentenced on 31 May at Crawley Magistrates’ Court to 18 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, and given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). The order mandates that Woolley must not remain on any retail premises in Sussex if asked to leave, and prohibits him from entering any Tesco store in West Sussex, any Co-op store in Sussex, and several other named stores in Worthing.
Woolley’s sentencing follows multiple shoplifting incidents between 2 April and 30 April. He stole various items from Co-op, Manor Parade on five different occasions, and on 30 April, he took three bottles of alcohol from B&M, Guildbourne Centre.
Woolley, 36, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to all six offences. Sergeant Craig Burgess remarked that this conviction brings peace of mind to the affected stores and reiterated that retail crime remains a priority for Sussex Police.
