A27 Barrier Repairs in Shoreham Could Take Four Weeks
National Highways has announced that permanent repairs to a damaged barrier on the A27 Shoreham Flyover could take up to four weeks.
Drivers have experienced delays of up to an hour since the incident near the exit slip road of the A27 Shoreham Flyover on Sunday.
The crash, which occurred on the westbound carriageway, involved three vehicles, including a motorbike. The motorcyclist was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital with a leg injury, according to the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).
A National Highways spokesperson stated that a temporary barrier was being installed overnight on Tuesday 18th June, which would reopen both lanes of the main carriageway. However, the exit slip road will remain closed until the permanent repair is completed.
National Highways went on to confirm that a bespoke replacement barrier has been ordered, but due to its custom nature, the repairs are expected to take up to four weeks.
