A27 Emergency Repairs Continue After Water Mains Leak in Worthing
Emergency repairs on the A27 in Worthing are ongoing following a water mains leak on Arundel Road, with works expected to conclude by Tuesday evening. Temporary traffic lights remain in place to manage the disruption.
Southern Water teams have been working on a water mains leak identified on a grass verge along the A27 Arundel Road. The leak, reported on Friday (November 15), prompted emergency measures, including temporary traffic signals to ensure safety during the repairs. The water company say their aim is to complete the repairs promptly while ensuring the safety of the workers and road users.
An update from Southern Water on Monday (November 18) confirmed that the repair works are progressing and are scheduled to finish by 6pm on Tuesday (November 19).
National Highways has facilitated the placement of temporary traffic lights between Durrington Hill and Mill Lane to support the repairs. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys carefully as delays are expected until the works are completed.
