Adur and Worthing Activate Severe Weather Protocol for Rough Sleepers

Adur and Worthing Council have activated their Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) to provide shelter for rough sleepers as temperatures plummet to 0°C or below.

The protocol ensures that all rough sleepers in Adur and Worthing without alternative accommodation can access shelter during severe weather. Outreach teams are working alongside the housing needs team to advise individuals on their options, assist them into emergency accommodation, and check on their welfare during the cold snap.

Members of the public who are concerned about rough sleepers can report their location through the Streetlink website or app. http://thestreetlink.org.uk

The information is sent directly to outreach teams, who will attempt to locate and notify the individuals of available support services.
