Adur and Worthing Councils Issue Safety Warning to Beach Users
Adur and Worthing Councils have issued a safety warning urging beach users to avoid designated swimming areas to ensure swimmer safety.
Ahead of the warmer summer months, Adur and Worthing Councils have called on individuals engaging in watersports and angling to steer clear of the designated summer swimming zones. These areas include Lancing Beach Green, opposite Widewater Lagoon in Shoreham, and off Southwick Beach. The council has emphasised that these zones are clearly signposted with yellow buoys labelled “swim area” to ensure the protection of swimmers.
A spokesperson for the council highlighted the importance of respecting these zones to prevent accidents and enhance swimmer safety. They urged the public to report any breaches or near misses to the Coastal Office team at 01903 238977.
