Adur and Worthing Police Engage with Local Youth on Safety Initiatives
Adur and Worthing police teams have been actively engaging with local schools and youth groups to promote safety and raise awareness on key issues. Their latest initiatives aim to support community well-being through educational outreach and youth-focused interventions.
Officers, including PC Evans and PS McAlees, have been working with local schools like St Andrews and Bohunt High School, delivering one-on-one interventions on topics such as knife crime and legal matters. In primary schools, PCSO Marsden has been using virtual reality headsets to teach over 600 children about online safety, while also discussing the consequences of risky behaviour.
Additionally, the police have joined forces with Adur and Worthing Councils to launch a Youth Forum, set to start in October, providing local children the opportunity to meet monthly with authorities to share their views and expectations. The police are also preparing a parent awareness evening to address common themes affecting young people in the community.
