Adur District Council Issues Warning After Tyres Dumped Near River Adur

A flytipping incident has been reported near the River Adur in Shoreham, where a large number of motorcycle tyres were discarded over the flood defence wall near Ricardo’s Shoreham Technical Centre.

Adur District Council has responded by issuing an urgent appeal for information and reminding the public of the serious consequences of such illegal activities.

The council’s spokesperson emphasised that flytipping is a criminal offence that can result in fines up to £50,000 and potential imprisonment. The council is actively working to remove the dumped items to prevent environmental damage and is committed to prosecuting those responsible. They have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward by emailing compliance@adur-worthing.gov.uk.
