Angmering Parks Upgraded to Promote Healthy Lifestyles
Two parks in Angmering have received significant upgrades aimed at promoting healthy and active lifestyles, thanks to funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Arun District Council utilised £7,500 from the fund to complete these enhancements, targeting improvements in cycling and walking infrastructure.
Russet Park has been equipped with cycle repair stations and additional cycle racks near the play area. These upgrades follow the park’s refurbishment last year, enhancing its appeal and utility for local families and cyclists. Similarly, Mayflower Park now features new benches and cycle racks, providing more amenities for residents to enjoy outdoor activities.
Councillor Nikki Hamilton-Street, chairwoman of Angmering Parish Council, expressed her satisfaction with the funding allocation. She highlighted that these improvements, alongside the recent £130,000 refurbishment of Russet Play Area, aim to support residents in leading more active lives by facilitating cycling and other outdoor activities across the village’s green spaces.
