Bad Weather Causes Delay to Lyminster Bypass Completion

Bad weather has been blamed for delays to the £50m Lyminster Bypass, north of Littlehampton, which was originally expected to open this autumn. West Sussex County Council now anticipates the bypass will be fully completed early next year.

Frustrated residents expressed their dissatisfaction with the delay, citing years of waiting for the project to be finished. The southbound section of the bypass is already in use, but ongoing work on the northern carriageway is causing continued traffic disruption, with temporary lights managing congestion during busy periods.

The bypass, designed to reduce traffic and improve safety in the area, is funded by a combination of council money, developer contributions, and support from the Coast to Capital Growth Hub.
