Bin Lorry Fire Closes Castle Road in Worthing

Castle Road in Worthing was closed this morning due to a bin lorry fire.

At 8:56 am, the West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service responded to a fire involving the contents of a refuse lorry..

According to a spokeswoman for the service, two fire engines from Worthing were dispatched to the scene following the report. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, used high pressure hose reels to extinguish the fire, which was determined to be accidental.

The firefighting crews successfully managed the situation and left the scene by approximately 9:30 am.
