Buckingham Road Car Park Reopens After Major Repairs
Buckingham Road car park in Worthing has reopened after undergoing extensive structural repairs and improvements.
The multi-storey car park, closed since 2021 due to safety concerns, has now reopened following major refurbishment works. Worthing Borough Council undertook the repairs due to the car park’s age, while also upgrading several of its features. These upgrades include new CCTV cameras, additional and larger disabled and parent-and-child bays, as well as dementia-friendly spaces.
The refurbishment also introduced a change in the way drivers pay for parking. Now, instead of paying on departure, visitors must pay on arrival, similar to the system in the council’s surface car parks. Payment can be made by cash, card, or through the MiPermit app, which allows users to extend their parking time remotely.
