Caravans Leave Unauthorised Encampment at Goring Gap
Caravans have vacated the Goring Gap encampment, leaving behind litter after a three-week stay.
After more than three weeks, nine vehicles, including vans and caravans, have left an unauthorised encampment at Goring Gap in Marine Drive. The encampment also included pet hutches, milk churns, and quad bikes, with black bin bags discarded in nearby bushes.
Worthing Borough Council reported that their cleansing team has been working to clear the black bag waste left behind and will continue to remove any remaining green waste over the next few days.
To minimise disruption, the council had left public toilets unlocked and provided extra bins to encourage proper waste disposal. Regular site visits were conducted by West Sussex County Council and Sussex Police to monitor the situation and its impact on nearby residents.
