Caravans Moved from Goring Gap to Nearby Football Pitch

A group of caravans initially set up at Goring Gap have been moved following a final warning from police and West Sussex County Council.

The caravans, present since 16 July, departed the village green, only to establish a new camp a few miles away at football pitches north of Goring.

The council had served the group with notices to vacate the land by Friday, stating that court proceedings would follow if they failed to comply.

A council spokesperson confirmed the enforcement, indicating continued monitoring of the site in coordination with Sussex Police. The new encampment is located at the Highdown pitches near the A27.

Concerns were previously raised about fly tipping at the Goring Gap site just a month ago in June.
