Caravans seen in Goring Carpark with reports of "criminal damage"

Multiple caravans have been sighted at the Alinora Avenue car park near Goring Gap, accompanied by washing hung over fences and reports of “criminal damage”.

The makeshift encampment, which currently consists of three caravans, was set up earlier this week, with individuals seen around the site.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police told the Brighton Argus “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment at Goring Greensward – known locally as Goring Gap – reported on Thursday, July 20.

“Officers have engaged with the group and are assisting the local authority as the lead agency.”

“We are also aware of reports of criminal damage in the area. Anyone with any evidence such as mobile, CCTV or dash cam footage is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 475 of 20/07.”
