Cat Found Taped Inside Bag and Dumped by Roadside in Angmering

A young cat was found wrapped in plastic and dust sheets, taped inside a drawstring bag, and dumped by a roadside in Angmering in what an animal rescue charity has described as a deliberate act of cruelty.
Wadars Animal Rescue in Worthing was alerted on the morning of Wednesday, 26 March, by a member of the public who noticed a suspicious bag moving near the entrance to a property in Roundstone Lane. Initially thought to be rubbish, closer inspection revealed a live animal inside. The woman contacted police and was advised to make a small cut in the bag, at which point she saw fur and immediately contacted the charity.
Tracy Cadman, operations director at Wadars, called the incident “one of the most sickening and cowardly things” she had seen in years. The cat was found in a bag marked ‘Dreamcatcher’, wrapped in green masking tape, with decorator’s dust sheets and a paint-covered cloth inside. Despite the ordeal, the young male cat is said to be in good condition and is now being cared for by Wadars.
The charity is appealing to the public for information and is urging anyone who recognises the cat to get in touch by calling 01903 247111 or emailing enquiries@wadars.co.uk.
