Durrington High School Charity Challenge 2024 Raises Vital Donations for Worthing Foodbank

**Durrington High School’s 2024 charity campaign, led by the Student Senior Leadership Team, has successfully raised over 1,700 long-life food items for the Worthing foodbank, providing vital supplies to those in need. **

The ‘Food for Thought’ initiative saw students and staff gather long-life goods such as tinned meats and bagged carbohydrates over the course of a week in early October. The overwhelming generosity of the school community led to a second collection being required by the foodbank due to the sheer volume of donations.

Worthing foodbank manager Val John expressed gratitude for the donations, noting that the items weighed nearly a tonne. This contribution has greatly bolstered the foodbank’s stock, allowing them to continue supporting local residents facing hardship.
