Durrington Hill in Worthing will be closed in stages from February 26 to allow for gas mains replacement, with work expected to continue until April 30.
West Sussex County Council has announced the temporary closure under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The closure will affect the entire length of Durrington Hill, which provides access to the A27. The work will be carried out in sections to minimise disruption, with alternative routes clearly signposted. Despite the road closure, access to properties along the affected sections will be maintained throughout the project.
Although the order allows the closure to remain in effect for up to 18 months, the council anticipates the work will be completed by the end of April. Residents and motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly during the construction period.
