Elderly Woman Hospitalised After Van Collision

A 70-year-old woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a collision with a van in Worthing, sparking a police investigation into the incident.

The collision occurred at the junction of Warwick Street and Brighton Road around 3.15pm yesterday, with the woman taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. Despite the severity of her injuries, they are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The emergency response to the incident involved the landing of an air ambulance on Worthing beach, although the victim was ultimately transported by road.

Sussex Police are appealing to the public for any witnesses or dash-cam footage that could aid their investigation into the circumstances of the collision. The road was closed for approximately two hours, causing traffic disruption in the area.
