Fire Disruption at new Goring Bakery
A newly opened bakery in Goring faced a challenging start as one of its ovens caught fire on its second day of trading. Despite the setback, Patisserie 43 remained open with limited capacity.
The incident occurred at Patisserie 43, located in Strand Parade, where a fire broke out in one of the bakery’s inherited ovens. According to updates posted on the business’s Facebook page, the fire caused smoky conditions but no injuries. Initially, the owner announced a delayed opening due to the damage, but later confirmed the bakery would open as planned, albeit with only one functional oven.
Owner Tanya Clubb, well-known locally for her business Tan’s Tasty Cakes, launched Patisserie 43 just a day prior with the support of town crier Bob Smytherman at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
In a social media update, Clubb reassured customers that the bakery would restock continuously throughout the day to meet demand despite the reduced oven capacity.
