Flare Thrown at Worthing FC Match Prompts Ultimatum to Spectator

A supporter who threw a flare onto the pitch during Worthing FC’s Easter Monday fixture has been given until Tuesday to come forward or face identification by club officials.
The incident took place at Worthing FC’s Sussex Transport Community Stadium during a National League South match against Dorking Wanderers, which ended in a 1-1 draw in front of 2,992 spectators. In response, Dorking Wanderers issued a strong statement on social media, condemning the act and demanding the individual take responsibility.
Jonathan Bines, chief executive of Dorking Wanderers, described the behaviour as “embarrassing” and warned that the club would identify those involved if they did not step forward voluntarily. He stated, “Plenty of people saw you do it, so it won’t take us too long.” He also extended the warning to anyone else connected to anti-social conduct during the match.
The club reiterated its stance as a family-oriented organisation and called for accountability to maintain a safe environment at football matches. Both clubs have not reported any injuries resulting from the incident.
