Former Lancing College Teacher Pleads Guilty to Multiple Child Sex Offences
A former history teacher at Lancing College, Nick Baldock, has admitted to multiple child sex offences, including sexual assault and the possession of indecent images.
Baldock, 46, pleaded guilty to nine charges during a hearing at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Baldock’s offences include the sexual assault of a teenage boy in July 2022, who was a student at the time. Following the incident, Baldock contacted the victim under the pretext of apologising but instead made inappropriate sexual comments about younger boys.
Further investigation revealed that Baldock’s digital devices contained indecent images of children, including highly explicit content. The images did not involve current or former pupils of Lancing College.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hitchcock of Sussex Police’s Online Child Abuse Team (OCAT) stated that Baldock had “betrayed the trust of all of his victims, their families, and the entire school community.”
Baldock is scheduled for sentencing at Lewes Crown Court on September 27. He has been released on conditional bail and has been added to the Sex Offenders Register.
