Former Lancing Police Station Put Up for Sale
The former police station in Lancing has been put on the market as part of plans to redevelop the town centre.
Adur District Council, which purchased the North Road building in 2021, has decided to sell the site to a buyer who can bring it back into use. The income generated from the sale will be reinvested in community projects across the district.
The building had been vacant for several years before the council acquired it and transformed it into Fabric, a community workspace run in partnership with flexible office provider Freedom Works. It offered workspaces, meeting rooms, and event facilities for local businesses, charities, and community groups. However, the council has since been assessing the long-term development potential of the site as part of its Lancing: Now and into the Future regeneration project.
A council spokesperson said that after discussions with the community, selling the site emerged as the best option. The funds raised will be used to support other local initiatives that deliver the most benefit to residents. The sale aligns with the council’s strategy of prioritising investment in assets that directly contribute to community development.
