Former Worthing Casino Set to Become Tea Rooms
**Plans have been submitted to convert a former casino in Worthing town centre into a tea room and gift shop.add
The application for the property on Ann Street was filed with Adur and Worthing Councils by Finola Brady Architectural Services, detailing the proposed change of use.
The building, once home to Ann Street Casino, will become a licensed tea room, with alcohol available only alongside food, according to the plans. The application clarifies that the new establishment is not intended to operate as a drinking venue, stating that “the licensed café is in effect a restaurant.”
The property, a late-Victorian end-of-terrace building, will remain structurally unchanged as per the submitted documents. Once a pair of shops, the building retains much of its original design. A decision on the application is expected by November 20.
