Fourth Fire at Worthing Flats Sparks Police Investigation

A fourth suspected deliberate fire at a block of flats in Worthing has sparked a police investigation and fire service response.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Court on Clifton Road, Worthing, at 4:07 am on Thursday, 9th January, following reports of a fire. West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service confirmed that crews arrived to find the fire had already been extinguished. Firefighters ventilated the property before leaving the scene.

A spokesperson for the fire service stated that the incident is being treated as a deliberate act. Sussex Police have launched an investigation into the matter, with this being the fourth fire reported at the same property.

Residents of Victoria Court were evacuated during the incident as a precaution. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the fire to come forward as investigations continue.
