Fundraiser launched after Shoreham family loses home in flat fire

A fundraising campaign has been set up for a family who lost their home following a fire at a block of flats in Shoreham.
Emergency services were called to Wilmot Road on Sunday evening after reports of a fire in a residential building. Upon arrival, crews from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service found three properties affected and heavy smoke issuing from the building. The fire has since been confirmed as accidental, with no injuries reported.
A GoFundMe page has been created to support one of the families impacted by the blaze. The organiser of the fundraiser described the situation as “a real struggle” and encouraged people to donate or provide items to help the family recover. Drop-off arrangements have also been put in place for physical donations.
In the aftermath of the fire, fire crews returned to the area to carry out community fire safety activities, aimed at raising awareness and preventing similar incidents. The affected building remains under assessment as recovery efforts continue.
