Hundreds of Riders Pay Tribute to Crash Victim Josh Southgate in Worthing
Hundreds of motorbike riders gathered in Worthing to pay tribute to Josh Southgate, a 20-year-old who died following a collision on the A27 last month. The memorial ride brought together family, friends, and members of the biking community to honour his life.
Josh Southgate, who worked at Bacon and Co. Estate Agents, tragically passed away on September 25, two days after his motorbike collided with a van on the A27 near Worthing. On Saturday, an estimated 350 riders set out from Lancing, travelling towards the crash site near Clapham, before ending at Whiteways Café near Arundel. Along the route, riders paused to lay flowers at Josh’s workplace and the accident location.
David Hughes, a colleague of Josh’s, described him as a “very, very nice young man” with a promising future, sharing that the tribute was exceptionally moving. Organiser Xavi Champion said that the event drew riders from as far as Wales.
