Labour Gain Control of Adur District Council election result

Labour have gained control of Adur District Council.

Labour - 15 (+7)
Conservative - 8 (-7)
Green - 2 (0)
Independents and others - 2 (0)

Labour’s successful campaign saw them winning seats in Cokeham, Eastbrook, Buckingham, Hillside, and Churchill wards from the Conservative incumbents.

Adur Greens held their seat in St Nicolas ward, with candidate Gerry Thompson.

Marine ward in Adur was also held by the Independent group Shoreham Beach Residents Association, with incumbent councillor Joss Loader.

Labour’s Nigel Corston won in a closely contested race in Hillside Ward against the sitting council leader Neil Parkin. Neil was elected to his seat with just 14 votes in 2022.
