Littlehampton Man Charged with Multiple Violent Offences

Police in Littlehampton have charged a man with multiple violent offences against a woman.

Justin McDermott, 42, of New Road in Littlehampton, faces charges including intentional strangulation, actual bodily harm, and assaulting an emergency worker.

The charges stem from an incident on 6 June when a British Transport Police officer conducted a welfare check at a property on Arundel Road following a report of assault. Upon the officer’s arrival, a man fled the scene, pushing the officer as he left.

McDermott was arrested on 18 June and has been remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on 17 July to face the charges.
