Littlehampton RNLI Seeks Volunteer Shore Crew
Littlehampton RNLI is calling for volunteers to join its shore crew, supporting lifeboat launches and station upkeep.
The Littlehampton lifeboat station is seeking new members for its shore crew to assist with launching lifeboats, maintaining the station, and retrieving boats as they return from missions. The roles are critical in ensuring the station remains operational and ready to respond to emergencies.
Shore crew members must live near the station to ensure a quick response when needed. Chris Stewart, a current volunteer, described the role as rewarding, highlighting the skills learned during training and the sense of community among the team. “There is an amazing team here at Littlehampton, who are always very welcoming, supportive, and helpful,” he said.
Prospective volunteers can apply through the RNLI website to contribute to this essential service that supports Littlehampton and its wider community. The RNLI is a vital charity dedicated to saving lives at sea.
