Man Arrested on Suspicion of Arson Following Goring Flat Fire

A 60-year-old man from Worthing has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a significant fire at a block of flats on Eirene Road on Monday morning.

The fire, reported around 2am, prompted an immediate response from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and Sussex Police, resulting in the evacuation of the building’s occupants.

The arrested man is currently in custody, while investigations continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the fire. Authorities are working with local partners to provide temporary accommodation for those displaced by the incident.
