Man Rescued After Becoming Stuck Knee-Deep in Mud by Shoreham Riverbank

Emergency services rescued a man who became stuck knee-deep in mud near Norfolk Bridge in Shoreham on Thursday afternoon.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, alongside crews from East Sussex and nearby stations, responded to reports of a man trapped in mud by the River Adur at approximately 2pm. The situation required the deployment of the service’s Technical Rescue Unit, as well as specialist water rescue suits and an inflatable rescue path to safely extract the man.
The man was successfully rescued without the need for medical assistance, and firefighters cleared the scene by 2:50pm..
