Marine Ward By-Election Set for September 19th

A by-election is scheduled for September 19th to fill the vacant Marine Ward seat on Worthing Borough Council.

The vacancy arose after Dr Beccy Cooper, the former council leader, was elected as the new Member of Parliament for Worthing West.

Candidates interested in contesting the Marine Ward seat must submit their nomination papers by Thursday, August 22nd. Worthing Borough Council will provide a complete list of candidates on its website following this deadline. The last day for residents to register to vote in this by-election is Tuesday, September 3rd, with a deadline of Wednesday, September 4th for those opting to vote by post.

As with recent elections, voters will need to present photo identification to cast their votes in person at polling stations. Those without valid photo ID can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate, with the deadline for applications set for Wednesday, September 11th.
