New Council Homes in Lancing to be Completed by March 2025
Construction of new council homes in Lancing is set to be completed by spring next year, according to Adur District Council.
The homes, being built on the site of a former car park on South Street, have had their foundations laid despite challenging weather conditions. The development includes four one-bedroom and three two-bedroom homes, utilising modern and sustainable construction techniques aimed at reducing waste and minimising disruption for nearby residents.
The energy-efficient homes are part of a broader initiative to provide housing for Adur residents at risk of homelessness. A council spokesperson stated that this project is part of a plan to replace old garage compounds and under-used sites across Sompting, Lancing, Shoreham, Southwick, and Fishersgate. The new homes will be highly insulated, making them more energy-efficient and cost-effective for tenants to run.
Completion of the project is anticipated for March 2025, with the first tenants expected to move in soon after.
