New Electric Vehicle Charging Points Planned InWorthing and Southwick

New electric vehicle charging points are set to be installed on 12 roads in Worthing and Southwick, with residents given the opportunity to comment on the proposals before the deadline on 16 May.
The initiative is part of the West Sussex Chargepoint Network, a collaboration between West Sussex County Council, local district and borough councils, and Connected Kerb.
In Southwick, Manor Hall Road and Saint Richard’s Road have been identified for new installations. Meanwhile, ten locations across Worthing - including Alinora Crescent, Angola Road, Clapham Common, Findon Road, Lime Road, Columbia Drive, Ophir Road, Pentland Road, Singleton Crescent and Westlake Gardens - have been selected based on public requests and areas with limited off-road parking. The project aims to boost confidence among residents considering the switch to electric vehicles.
The West Sussex Chargepoint Network has already installed 872 sockets across 150 locations, supporting more than 8,000 electric vehicle drivers with nearly 65,000 charging sessions recorded. The current proposals include future-proofing by installing additional underground wiring to allow for further expansion as demand grows. Feedback on the proposed sites can be submitted through the West Sussex County Council website.
