New Sports Pavilion Approved for Lancing's Monks Recreation Ground
A new sports pavilion is set to be constructed on Lancing’s Monks Recreation Ground, following approval by Adur and Worthing Council.
The development, planned by Lancing Parish Council, will replace a former children’s play area on the site.
The proposed facility will include essential amenities such as changing and shower facilities, a public café, and toilets, including disabled access. Additionally, the building will house office space for Lancing Parish Council on the first floor. The play area that once occupied the site has already been relocated to the northern part of the park.
Garrick Architects, responsible for the design, highlighted that the pavilion is intended to serve the existing football pitches and meet community needs for a park café and public conveniences. The project is considered a sustainable development, making use of a previously utilised site, though it does not include provisions for additional public parking.
