Overturned Car Sparks Large Emergency Response in Broadwater

An elderly driver suffered minor injuries after his car overturned in a collision on Broadwater Street West, Worthing, prompting a major emergency response.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Saturday morning (March 8) after a black Suzuki collided with a parked vehicle at the junction with Ardsheal Road. Sussex Police confirmed that the impact caused the Suzuki to roll onto its roof, leaving the 82-year-old driver trapped inside. Fire crews used hydraulic equipment to free the man, who was treated for minor injuries.
The incident led to temporary lane closures on the A24 while emergency services attended the scene. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service dispatched two fire engines to assist, and police urged witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward. Broadwater Street West has since reopened, and authorities have reminded the public to dial 999 in case of emergencies.
