Person Rescued from Sea Following Extensive Search Off Worthing Beach
Emergency services conducted a large-scale search operation off Worthing Beach, rescuing one person from the water while another remains unaccounted for.
Teams, including the coastguard, paramedics, and the RNLI, were dispatched to Worthing Beach near the Splash Point leisure centre early this morning after receiving reports of two people in the water. The coastguard was first alerted at 4:39 am, prompting a rapid response involving a helicopter and lifeboats to search the area.
One individual was successfully pulled from the sea and received medical attention from paramedics. However, after more than an hour of searching, the second person could not be located. A spokesman for Shoreham Coastguard confirmed that no additional individuals requiring assistance were found in the water or surrounding areas.
