Planning Application Submitted for 190 New Homes in Angmering Amidst Local Opposition
Gleeson Land has submitted a planning application to build 190 residential dwellings in Angmering, West Sussex, which has sparked significant local opposition.
The proposed development includes up to 57 affordable homes and a community building designated for Cancer United, a local charity.
The proposed development is located on land west of Bewley Road, Angmering, an area where residents have expressed growing concerns over increasing construction projects. Earlier this month, a group of Angmering villagers formed an action group, Protect Farmland West of Bowley Road, to oppose further developments. Lucy Todd, who leads the group, highlighted the strain on local infrastructure, including the village’s medical centre, as one of the main concerns driving the opposition.
In response to the planning application, Arun District Council has acknowledged the significant local interest in the proposal and encouraged residents to submit their concerns through the council’s online portal to ensure their voices are heard.
