Plans for Southwick Football Club Redevelopment into Sports Hub Approved
Plans to redevelop the former Southwick Football Club into a community sports hub have been approved. The project aims to replace the existing facilities with a floodlit 3G football pitch, new changing rooms, and a clubhouse.
The Russell Martin Foundation (RMF), a Brighton-based charity, is behind the plans for the Old Barn Way site. The proposed development will also include health and wellbeing classes, exercise groups, and workshops in addition to sports facilities. The charity is supported by Russell Martin, former professional footballer and current Southampton FC manager.
Adur District Council has contributed £50,000 to allow urgent safety works at the site. While the approval marks significant progress, further arrangements, particularly regarding drainage, still need to be finalised before the project can move forward.
