March 30, 2025

A Sussex Police officer has been charged with engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and is due to appear in court next month.
PC Sam James Wilson, 30, faces the charge following an investigation by Sussex Police’s Safeguarding Investigations Unit. The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charge, which relates to alleged behaviour towards a woman known to him between January 2022 and August 2023.
Wilson is currently suspended from duty, Sussex Police confirmed in a statement released on Saturday. The force stated that the officer was under internal investigation before the charge was made.
The case is scheduled to be heard at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 April.
