Public Toilets temporarily closed due to Staff Shortages
Some public toilets in Adur and Worthing will be temporarily closed this weekend due to a staff shortage, the local councils announced. The closures are necessary as the councils face difficulties in monitoring and cleaning the facilities during this period.
A spokesperson for the councils issued an apology to residents, stating that the shortage has affected their ability to maintain all public toilets. As a result, a decision was made to close several facilities while prioritising the busiest locations to remain open.
The affected toilets are expected to reopen on Sunday when staffing levels return to normal. Meanwhile, key sites in both Adur and Worthing, including those in popular areas such as Lancing Beach Green and Worthing Pier, will continue to operate throughout the weekend.
