Resurfacing of Worthing Railway Approach to Begin Mid-November
The final phase of resurfacing work on roads around Worthing station will commence on November 14, aiming to improve accessibility and reduce future disruptions.
West Sussex County Council announced that road resurfacing work around Railway Approach and surrounding streets in Worthing will be conducted in phases from November 14 to 22. Daytime work will occur on November 14 and 15 between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, while overnight work will take place from November 18 to 22, between 8 pm and 4 am. Temporary road closures and traffic management measures will be in effect to facilitate the project.
The affected roads include Railway Approach, Cross Street, Victoria Road, Teville Place, and Oxford Road. Pedestrian access to Worthing Station and local businesses will be maintained wherever possible, although parking and access routes may need temporary relocation. Special provisions will also be made for emergency service access throughout the project.
Cllr Steve Waight, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, noted that the work is the final step in an extensive improvement program aimed at supporting the local economy and enhancing access to Worthing station for pedestrians and drivers.
