Second Suspect Arrested in Littlehampton Murder Investigation
A second suspect has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Paul Lawrence in Littlehampton, as detectives continue to appeal for information from the public.
Paul Lawrence, a 51-year-old local resident, was killed on Gladonian Road in the early hours of 28 January 2024. In the course of the investigation, a 16-year-old boy from Littlehampton was initially arrested on suspicion of murder and has been bailed until 10 October pending further enquiries. A second 16-year-old boy from the same area has now also been arrested on suspicion of murder and malicious communications offences and is bailed until 9 October.
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Campbell from the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team emphasised the ongoing commitment to seeking justice for Paul Lawrence and his family. He urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward, noting that this is an active investigation and cautioning against speculation or social media posts that could affect the fairness of any future trial.
