Shoreham Man Jailed for Possession of Cannabis and Offensive Weapons
A Shoreham man has been sentenced to prison after being found with cannabis, a baton, and a knuckle duster in his van.
Steven Shevlin, 34, was stopped by police officers from the Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) near Arundel during proactive patrols.
He was found with a fraudulent vehicle registration mark, cannabis, and offensive weapons, including a baton and a knuckle duster. Additionally, Shevlin failed to declare the vehicle he was driving, breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed in 2020.
Appearing at Lewes Crown Court on May 16, Shevlin admitted to multiple offences, including possession of cannabis, fraudulent use of a vehicle registration mark, failing to provide a blood specimen when suspected of drug driving, possession of offensive weapons, and driving without valid insurance. He was sentenced to 50 weeks in prison and received a three-year driving disqualification.
