Six Teenagers Hospitalised After A27 Police Pursuit Ends in Crash
Six teenagers were hospitalised following a crash on the A27 during a police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
Sussex Police reported being alerted to a stolen vehicle travelling northbound on the A29 in Fontwell shortly after midnight on Sunday. Officers pursued the vehicle eastbound on the A27 until it collided with a parked car near the Ford Road roundabout. The crash involved six boys aged between 13 and 15, all of whom were taken to hospital for assessment and treatment.
Five of the teenagers have since been discharged from the hospital, while one remains in a stable condition, receiving treatment for serious injuries.
A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed that a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), following standard procedures for incidents of this nature. Investigations are ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
