Southern Water Awards £90,000 in Grants for Water-Saving Initiatives in West Sussex
Southern Water has awarded £90,000 in grants to various organisations across West Sussex to support innovative water-saving initiatives.
The grants are part of the company’s Business Partnership Fund, aimed at promoting water efficiency and reducing environmental impact in response to the growing population in the Southeast.
One of the major beneficiaries is the Splash Point Leisure Centre in Worthing, which received £40,000 to install an industrial filter designed to reuse swimming pool water. This initiative is expected to save approximately 7,100 litres of water daily, significantly contributing to local water conservation efforts. Additionally, Lancing Parish Council was also awarded a grant to implement a range of water-saving measures.
The grants are part of Southern Water’s Business Partnership Fund, aimed at promoting water efficiency and reducing the environmental impact in response to the growing population in the Southeast and are anticipated to save over seven million litres of water annually. The next round of grant applications will be open from October to December 2024.
