**Stagecoach South has announced a series of significant changes to bus routes in Worthing and Littlehampton, aiming to improve reliability and connectivity. The company is inviting feedback from the public as part of its commitment to delivering a better transport network.**
The plans include dividing the popular Coastliner service into two sections—route 700 from Durrington to Brighton and route 701 from Littlehampton to Lancing. This change will avoid level crossings that frequently cause delays. A new route, number 11, will link Littlehampton to Worthing via Ferring and East Preston. The revisions are designed to enhance efficiency and address long-standing congestion issues caused by level crossing delays in Roundstone and Ferring.
Route-specific improvements will include increased frequency on the 700 service and faster connections on the 701, with through tickets available for seamless transfers. Route 5 will now serve the expanding West Durrington estate, while later evening services are planned for several routes. Adjustments to routes 10 and 11 will improve access and reliability for passengers across the network.
Stagecoach South is encouraging passengers to share their views through an online survey. Feedback will help shape the final network updates, ensuring the revised services meet the needs of local communities. The survey and full details of the proposed changes can be accessed via the Stagecoach website.
