Storm Ciaran - Worthing Pier Closed

Worthing Pier has been closed ahead of the severe wind conditions expected along the coastline. The decision comes in the wake of a weather warning issued by the Met Office, advising of strong gales across Sussex throughout the next 24 hours.

Adur and Worthing Council have proactively opted to shut down the pier for the remainder of the day and tomorrow as a safety precaution. The pier is anticipated to reopen and resume normal operations once the weather conditions stabilize.

In a statement shared on Twitter, a representative from the council expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding and patience, stating: “Worthing Pier is currently closed due to today’s strong winds. We anticipate reopening and welcoming visitors back tomorrow morning. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time.”
